The main aims in its design were to allow the sharing of bibliographies on a network (intranet, internt) and provide a repository for documents associated to recorded references (ps, pdf document). It grew from this to permit: creation and deletion of bibliographies, then the facilities to edit entries were added thus creating a simple web front-end for bibliographies management.
